Gary Lineker knew how to find the back of the net, there is no doubt about that.
A prolific goalscorer during his professional career, Lineker started at Leicester City, and also turned out for Everton, Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur and Nagoya Grampus Eight before retiring in 1994.
Lineker joined Everton from Leicester in 1985, and spent the 1985-86 campaign at Goodison Park, scoring 38 times in 52 appearances in all competitions.
Lineker moved on to Barcelona following the 1986 World Cup, and enjoyed more success in Spain before a switch to Tottenham.
The pundit might have only spent one season at Everton, but he was a prolific goalscorer, and is fondly remembered by a number of the club’s fans.
That said, there are also a selection of Everton supporters who do not have the best opinion of the 80-time England international.
